The editor said recently that if the website shows the sinsheim ? information, then the website has not been updated.
It does and it hasn't.

You should be able to use the classifieds and the forum. It is still under development and will be oficially launched on Saturday 16th May. www.model-engineer.co.uk regards David
From another message on the subject of the ME website by its editor it is well known about that its light on material as it isnt even 'officially' launched yet. I'm sure it will grow especially once plenty of people view it and start taking part.

Hi,
The website was copied over from the development platform today...... and so it is in it's "virgin" state.
As David has said in another thread the official launch is on 16th May.
I will be adding articles to the website over the next few months as time allows, and will certainly be adding quite a few over the next few days to ensure there is "content" for you all.
I have been taken on as the Website Editor, and will use the same nickname on the Model Engineer website as here, so that there is no confusion.
So, please register and take a look round, join in the forums, create some new threads, or make suggestions for improvements... I am open to new ideas, and look forward to seeing you there, as well as here.
Rgds

Congratulations on becoming website editor !
And parallel forums - hmmm.
As a buyer of old ME magazines I would be interested to see what is in the latest ME magazines - heaven knows you might even tempt me to subscribe - so hope the ME forum offer previews of whats in the mags, and I hope it pumps people for suggestions for what they want in the magazine too.

Hi There The web site was put up early so the photos would not all have to be moved. Content will be added on an ongoing basis.
I will let potential readers know what is in future issues of both Model Engineer and Model Engineers' Workshop.
Feedback on both magazines will be welcome as long as it is constructive.
If you must complain about the magazine, offer suggestions for improvements as well.
It is you web site, please interact with it for the benefit of all. regards David

Congratulations on the new site, and to you Richmond on the job, now you can disguise playing on the computer as work as well Can I suggest that, in the early days at least, a forum for web site specific issues would be appropriate? It would save all the " this doesn't work" and "there's nowt in here yet" posts clogging up the main boards. I would post this on the ME site but there is nowhere obvious to put it. I was surprised not to see a "rules, etiquette and posting guidelines" section too. Shows promise, but I'll stop here for a while yet. Cheers, Andy

Interesting little site, well worth a visit. I've taken the liberty to edit the link to make it clickable.

This is really directed at davidmew. It is good that the new ME site is up and running but I have a few comments. First, I was going to sign up to the forum, but stopped when asked for post code. Why do you want that, other than for marketing. I try to avoid giving details like that to any forum type site. Second, I notice a few interesting articles but am not sure if they are new or have already appeared in the magazines. Would it be possible to indicate that on the site? Lastly, I notice the request for somebody to write the IC topics column. Does this mean that Nemett has stopped writing it? One of my interests is in IC engines and he produced interesting stuff most of the time. Keep up the good work. Jason

Hi There Thearticles are not new but many people may not have seen them. The intention is to put lots of old content of ME on. That is what has been requested by certain Yahoo groups.
Nemett has stopped writing his regular column due to personal reasons. He has said that he will offer the series on hs new engine to ME. regards David

Answer is to give post code of different address/area. ;D It is quite surprising the amount of details some people place on public web pages. Bill

Hi There There are thre teams of people working on the site. The first is Richmond and myself. We will put up articles and moderate etc.
The second are the marketing team. They want to sell magazines etc.
The third is the advertising team who sell advertising on the web site.
I have no control other the last two.
You can look at content and access most of the functions on the site without registering. You won't be able to post or place classified.
All of you are probably on dozens of databases. I expect most of you have a Tesco's club card or a Nectar card. Can't see why one more database will matter.
Non subscribers will probably get special offers on subscriptions. Subscribers will probably get offers on everything. regards David
