When do they normally arrive? I subscribed online and have yet to receive any issues? I was not sure how often they get sent out.

Not received mine yet either.
Doctorfloyd - should be sent out twice a month, usually a few days before the actual issue date.

Nice to see a mag being available close to its date. Why do I get mags sent in the 1st week of the month before the mag front cover date? Same for some railway mags, The Railway Magazine can be on my doorstep 1 whole month early. What happened to an April mag being available in - April? I'm guessing its something to do with spreading the post throughout the month, imagine the posties lugging thousands of mags on the 1st of the month, ours would just add them to the 'lost pile'

When "pushing" subscriptions to ME/MEW, the promise used to be that "you'd get the mags at least a week earlier than 'Joe Public' buying from WHS". Implying that subscribers would be "first to the bargains in the 'small adds'". Up to relatively recently, that was - with a very few exceptions - the norm. After ME changed to every two weeks and MEW to every four, things have "gone to a hot place in a manually propelled vehicle" - the last three issues being particularly late. Does this mean that the distributers OR printers OR ? can't cope with the reduced time between issues ? If so, would it be better to revert to the first and third Friday in each month for ME and once a month for MEW ?

HI,
I spoke to David Clark about this yesterday. He assures me that the issue is more to do with the dispatch ( subscription ) people not getting labels printed correctly, or on time. The magazine is / and has continued to be published in time to enable it to come out to subscribers the week before publication date.

My copy doesn't have a label the name and address is on the wrapper which I would have thought was produced by the distributor and not the subscriptions people. That said its still not arrived, I was assuming this is due to the post office policy of regarding 2nd class mail as needing to be delivered when they feel like getting around to it.

The Railway Magazine can be on my doorstep 1 whole month early.' If you think thats bad - one of the pc magazines is in the shops 2 months before the date on the cover!

Hi There Yes, it appears to be late. I am trying to find out what is going wrong. It is going to print on time, the editor and production team are on time. It is something to do with the people who post the magazine I think. We will sort it out ASAP. regards David

Hi There The reason for the magazines being dated early is due to the shops. Far better to put an early date on the magazine. It means the magazine looks like the current one for longer. Model Engineers Workshop is dated for the following month and goes on sale two weeks or so before cover month. This means it does not look out of date in the shops. Most magazines do this but some carry it to extremes. regards David

My copy also arrived today and I was pleased to see that the address, printed on the plastic cover, is of a larger font and much easier to read. I suppose I have been lucky over the years as only had one copy undelivered, where they had to send another one out, but the address that used to be on the wrapper was quite small and I would have thought the post would have had a problem.
