I took Chris Vine's advice and I'm leaving the painted parts for at least a week before attempting assembly. Whilst watching the paint dry this weekend I thought I'd have a go at the LBSC lubricator. I looked at the price of ratchet wheels so I did this 40T wheel on the Proxxon: silver steel using a single point boring tool. Much filing of pawls later later I had a lubricator waiting a paint job. I still have to find some suitable spring material, but the gadget seems to work OK! Eccentric links next week and we'll be running on air! JB

Always pleasing to make something when you maybe didn't expect to have to. Especially when it works! Nice!

If you have a broken tape measure, the spring that pulls the tape back in is just the job. You will need to make a little punch if you want a hole in it. Sapper
