Theres an interesting solution to producing buffer heads so they are identical, the conclusion of John Brookers articles on the Shay. Other things that took my eye were tethered hydroplanes and more of 'Changing hindsight into foresight'. However I would so it is up to or down to the usual standard depending on your point of view. I called the Subs line number 0870 8378668 and as I said they were helpful and the offending issue arrived within four days. Best of luck.

George,
I just got the bad news that they've run out of back issues of 4277. I'll have to go begging around the club members for a look see. There's at least two I know that subscribe.
Maybe a lesson for us all. The new publishers are running a tight ship. This could raise the value of used issues somewhat ;D

Hi SteveW,
I was talking to the subscriptions people yesterday - over problems with my subscription, and they told me they still had stocks of 4277. So I wonder who you believe and whether I will get my missing copies of the Model Engineer?
Cheers,
Roger Mason, in St. Agnes.

Roger,
I went round to borrow a look-see of a copy 4277 from a fellow subscriber and he hadn't had a copy either but hadn't noticed. He's just a couple of letters up the alphabet from me, strange or what.
At least they said they'd extend my subscription to include another copy except I'm starting to miss it.

Hi,
Just thought I would let you know that my replacement issues Nos. 4276 & 4277 arrived yesterday in the mail.
So if you still have missing issues I would talk to the subscriptions dept. again.
Cheers,
Roger Mason, in St. Agnes.

Guys,
Turns out my other source for ME4277 didn't get one either. The problem is either Cheltenham or that fact that we're all at the tail end of the alphabet : S, T & W.
Maybe time to put a flea in someone's ear.
