Did ever you see imperial ER-25 collets. I would like a 1/4" as I regularly use TCT router cutters in my mill.
Now I use a 6-7mm which works but it is a bit of a three hand job , winding the nut up and holding the tool also.
I want to be able to nip it by hand , then key tighten. If you have seen such a thing or know where to get please post
Thanks

Imperial ER collets are available, but I have only seen them offered by American-based suppliers. You could try Rotagrip in the UK, you might be lucky.

Thanks.
They are listing only metric but I'll phone them and see.

G'day David
For the third hand try some heavy grease or "Blue Tack" I don't know if it's called Blue Tack in the UK; it certainly isn't Durex! Blue Tack is that putty like stuff that sticks to smooth surfaces and is removable. Durex in Oz was a brand of adhesive tape.

Hi David
I have the same problem, but the simple solution is to hold the cutter in the collet and lower the quill to rest the cutter on a bit of rag on the table or workpiece, then lock the quill and it's easy.

G'day Durex in Oz was a brand of adhesive tape. Regards Ian And the 'other' Durex was/is a small rubber item to be worn in certain circumstances.

Oddly enough, Durex was also a brand of abrasive paper.
Make sure you specify the right one!
