Greetings, I am unable to obtain 7/16" dia copper tubes for the boiler. Can I change to 1/2" dia? To enable me to do this I will have to move the 3 top tubes up by 1/8". This will bring them to the same height as the tube for the super heater. Obviously this will change the 3/16 raise from the firebox to the smoke box that is shown in the plans.
Regards, Warthog

I dont foresee any problem with those changes. The one caution is, do not reduce the thickness of the boiler tubes, in fact, given a choce, increase them slightly.

Hi Warthog 7/16" copper tube is relatively easy to obtain in the UK, I would think Reeves and others would be quite happy to send it to you if there are no problems getting it into S Africa. Ron

Greetings, Thank for the replies, I did not think about getting the tubes from the UK. My son is an airline pilot, so I guess this will have to be "payback time". Once again thank you. Warthog
