Just yet another warning for our upside-down friends in the land of the Aborigines. I returned my faulty boiler to the supplier in Oz on 15th October last year. Despite all the promised feedback from Ian Kirby, then chairman of the AMBSC, with "the most stringent boiler standards in the world" ;D , I have heard nothing. Promises of "as soon as the boiler is returned we will inspect it and give you a full report" ....... - nothing! Aussies - buy your boilers from Helen Verrall at Western Steam in the UK - Tel: 0044 1278 788007 Just a wee bit of safety advice from a geriatric choo-choo builder. DJ

John Don't the Aussie's have the equivalent of the UK's Small Claims Court, even the modest cost of sending out the paperwork in this country is worthwhile, [it used to be £30 I think] unless they're old hands at conning people, it doesn't half concentrate their minds! Ron

Hi Ron - I don't need to make any claim as I did get a refund for it, but, from a safety point of view, it would be interesting to have received the promised communication from AMBSC.

Thanks for the recomendation of Western Steam, guys - I've just ordered my Simplex boiler from them with collection arranged for next August, when I'm back in UK for a holiday. Now must press on with the rest of the construction! Great fun Nigel
