Does anyone have a drawing for a steam operated cylinder drain cock please? Also looking for details of the Don Young Designs cylinder drain cocks outlined on his Tom Rolt design. This is a piston valve arrangement with a 3rd cock to the middle of the valve liner, withh all 3 cocks connected by a commmon operating rod. Drawing refers to 'available from Don Young Designs' which I cannot trace. Is anyone making items or know of a source for bits from this designer? If someone has details and can post or Fax I will reimburse costs. Here's hoping...............

Look on page 8 in the archive section of general chat. I asked the same question and got some sensible answers

Thanks for the responses chameleonrob and steeamjohn. Reeves have the Don Young loco designs, but when I last spoke to Jeff at IMLEC, no details of such fittings were available from him. I have found the Okadee steam operated drain cock drawing in the November 68 Model Engineer. Might have a go at making a set this weekend if I can get the brakes on my driving truck sorted out. I'll go to Page 8 of the archive now. Thanks again.

Re steam drain cocks, thopugh this might be too late
We had them on a ***son loco we rebuilt and they have actually worked for an entire season
I've had one apart and measured it and will probably make a set for the next engine (1/3rd scale TAW) scaled up. They are ridiculously simple just a bit of brass with a SS bobin but they do work! If Heyfordian or anyone else is interested I can offer a drawing.
