Hi, I have a Taiwanese clone of an Emco FB2 Vertical Mill (Model FV-320T). I have handbooks for both the FB2 and FV-320T and I cannot find a single aspect that is different, other than the lack of any manufacturer's marks on my machine. The mill works very well and I have just purchased a boring head, the Chronos 40 mm one.
I would now like to add a fine feed control to the quill, with a view one day to adding an electric drive.
Any suggestions, or references to sources of data that could be helpful would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance, John, (Sydney, Australia).

The smaller milling heads that fit the Emco lathes use a worm & Wheel. The wheel clamps over the center of the quill lever and the worm engages onto this, it can be quickly diengages for when you want to use it as a drill. By selecting a suitable ratio you should be able to get a fearly fine calibration to the wheel.
