Hello All as there is no specific area for 16mm narrow gauge I have put this picture of my latest project here I hope it will be of interest. When finished it should represent one of the locos used in the Guinness Brewery. Designed buy Samuel Geoghegan the resident engineer the first being built Avonside Engineering in 1882 the remaining eighteen built by W. Spence in Cork. Regards Bob

Is that the loco that rode inside a "cage" to allow it to run on the standard(wide) gauge?

Alan that's correct they were picked up and dropped into a converter truck so they could work outside the brewery. If the model runs well I am hoping to make a converter to run on 3 1/2" track. But I suspect that it will only pull it's self. Regards Bob

Thats fantastic, though it reminds me of a mobile flywheel motor and gearbox of the sort used in push toy cars.

Thanks for your kind comments the video shows it naked so to speak it will have side tanks front and rear footplates and handrails to complete. The Irish design engineer came up with a unique answer to a problem with a tight work space. This gives it this walking movement. Havoc I have added a couple more photos as requested and will keep you updated as progress allows. Regards Bob

It's a real beauty Bob. Lots of pieces in minimal space.

While searching for something else I found on the 16mm narrow gauge modellers association website that this model is referred to as "award winning". Don't think many people would doubt this, but I find it a reason to bump this thread. www.16mm.org.uk/newsite/files/default.html

Not only that, but Bob has been kind enough to make his drawings available. Great stuff.
