Good evening, I have a partly built 5" Britannia and my drawings are past the readable stage. Can anybody assist me in obtaining a set that are readable. They are not Perrier drawings. There are no author's name etc on the drawings. The only clues that I can give are the following - Plan No. 2 has details re the leading bogie and the leading and trailing driving wheels. Plan No. 3 has details on the front bogie and water pump. Plan No. 4 Cylinder details. Plan No. 5 Connecting Rod, Guide Bar Bracket, Expansion Link Bracket, Lifting Link, Cross Head. Plan No. 6 has details re the smokebox, regulator. Plan No. 8 has Tender details. Thanking you. Regards, DK

Hi DK,
they sound like the set of drawings that I got off Ebay some time ago. I have 10 sheets in all and they were drawn by T J Adlington. It's unlikely that I will ever build one so I would be happy to sell them if you are interested.

Hello John, Thank you for your quick response re the Plans for Britannia in 5” Gauge.
Do your plans match up with what I have described that appear on the plan sheets that I have to hand?

I think so Sheet 1 - general arrangement of main and cradle frames Sheet 2 - front Bogie, driving wheels, bogie stretcher, axles, crankpins, pump eccentric, brake gear Sheet 3 - axle pump, trailing bogie, drain cock operating gear Sheet 4 - Cylinders and valve gear layout Sheet 5 - Slide bar brackets, slide bars, expansion link brackets, valve gear, connecting and coupling rods, expansion links Sheet 6 - Smokebox and regulator Sheet 7 - Boiler details Sheet 8 - Tender general arrangement Sheet 9 - Tender hand pump, chimney, dome, oil pump, boiler fittings Sheet 10 - Backhead general arrangement, cab details Also, the drawings give a list of the castings that were available at the time which were apparently supplied by Wilwau (long defunct!) Sheet 10 has the 'drawn by T J Adlington, 12-6-69' I don't know if there were any more sheets. There are no details of the boiler cladding or a full general arrangement of the complete loco. A photo of sheet 2 below that may confirm if these are the same drawings John
