For years I have lusted after a Bisley multi drawer cabinet to put in my little 11 x 7 workshop, but the new ones are prohibitively expensive. I found one on ebay this week, and was wondering where to put it (thanks DJ, but no suggestions please), and to my absolute delight, it fits under the bench where I kept a now redundant morticer ,without a millimetre to spare! Papers and paints, swiss files and reference works, all keeping clean and ready to hand. I wonder how long that will last.....

Sadly I have seen many Cabinets like this go for landfill. The problem is that you are very unpopular if you take them home on the Underground during the rush hour!

They are indeed useful! I picked up a set from a workshop clearance very cheaply and use them for storing my set of reamers and short lengths of bar stock etc. John

I have two of those , they are great , one can't have enough of them , the more space for storage the bigger the collection of useful and not so useful things of all kinds .

I have a 12 drawer Brownbuilt ditto sitting right beside me as I type - not doing much except holding up the fax and some pigeon holes - methinks it might be time for a bit of relocation.

For my sins I work in a wood shop, where we have lots of strips left over, cut from usually 12 and 6 mm MDF, now both editors of model magajines have rejected articles on drawers and unit making but once you have a set you wonder how you managed before.
I now have about 12 sets of 6 drawer units, these are to A3 size and could be carried on the Underground if needed. One set grew and grew and now holds up one end of my lathe, another grew a set of wheels and a cushion and became a chair. Chairs do waste such a lot of room in workshops, oh and the footrest's are adjustable!!!!
