In Australia the boiler committee has added a new standard for duplex boilers. (S31803 Duplex Steel). We have in England the skills and knowledge to build this type of boilers. Your opinion is important for the future of the Steam Model Engineering.

To be accurate, the new Australian Code has NOT been ratified, only proposed. If it gets to a final vote stage, that will happen at Easter 2010.
The draft code requirements are such that it will preclude most people from building in this material so will make little difference to most people.

With in the next 6 weeks the new Duplex code will be out, or so my source informs me, we are currently awaiting the workcover tick. the first steaming and testing of a Duplex boiler has been undertaken by IKON in NZ with astounding results to the tune of 15min light up time for a 50l boiler.
