I've done my share of bitching about ME, & MEW.
Dave, You have my compliments on the Latest MEW. It was worth the money

G'day David
I have recently become a subscriber to MEW after struggling to keep up with the Newsagent's irregular displays. (July issues of ME now on sale, and out of order!). I now have a full set, Yeh!
I am finding MEW really worth the subscription with projects for a range of skills and levels of workshop capacity. I am relatively new to ME with the usual Chinese villains for cutting metal so I appreciate the simpler projects because they are in my grasp. (Thankfully I did get some training and experience over 40 years ago to kick start me this time round).
Another thing I like is that MEW articles are generally self contained per edition. (This is the reason I don't like ME; how many editions will it take to cover Northumbrian?)
One thing I would like to see is some intro to CAD, say Turbo-CAD or other relatively cheap CAD software. Sufficient knowledge to be able to generate a file for feeding to a Laser Cutter would be useful. I know some of the older readership may not like this but it is the way technology is moving/has moved.
The next challenge is CNC in the home workshop! For me just having a machine that will cut metal is a big enough challenge, automating it is a whole new story.
Thanks again David and MEW
Regards Ian
