Can anyone tell me if you can get a conversion sleeve from an INT taper to a 2MT. by which I mean I have a mill that has a 2MT arbor and I am now looking at getting a collect chuck. I have had a look on ebay but they seem to be the other way around so to speak. I searched this site and found a few articles on tapers but not the answer to my question.

Are you sure you really want to go from a 2MT and be able to mount something as big as say a 30INT or even bigger a 40INT???
You could buy a posilock chuck with collects which fits the 2MT for £100 at say Chronos. (£125 if you want both metric and imperial collect). Ok so it's not an autolock, but they do come up sometimes, but go fast (and are expensive)

Hi Uzzy,
Seems to me that you will have much too much overhang from a rather slender 2 morse taper and the mill bearings.
Can you do something to pull in some myford collets, if you have them? They would be much better as the cutter will be only just beyond the spindle Cheers Chris.
