Fair enough, looks to be going down OK at any rate.
Are those banana trees in the extreme foreground of the last shot?

Yup Tel, they're lakatan, my favourite!
Did you know the world is trying to tell us to eat rotten bananas as they contain more TFC (Total effin' crap) which apparently prevents cancer, but makes the banana sellers richer by being able to sell their rotting bananas!! ;D ;D

Now more than a third of the way round - down through magnolia avenue - And heading for Poultry parabola, and if you're interested, Tel, that tree to the left of the guy is a mango which is producing just now. The mango and the neem trees on the right were all planted from seed. When I first bought this land it was a corn field with absolutely nothing growing - all the trees were planted by myself and the good lady - I have a piece of angle bar on each of the 6 foot spaced posts welded to the rail - With a steel spacer also welded every 3 feet in between - Still got a fair bit of grinding and sanding to do to the rail profile, and I need to modify Baggo's driving trolley design to make the wheels rotate independently as the resistance on the corners with the rusty black steel is unacceptable. G'day DrJ
Glad to see you are up and about on another post.
How did the track survive the storm?
Regards Ian

I spoke with the storm master, Thor, and he shifted it in a northerly direction heading for Japan, so I missed out on the track weather-proof testing this time - another one coming soon though Lol!
Had a real bumpy ride in the ferry back to the island this afternoon, so there's something in the offing.

Forgive my pedantry DJ, but how could it be a corn field if there was nothing growing? Or had Monsanto got some GM nasties lurking somewhere.... JB Quite simple, loco, between crops the field used to be plowed. The corn I'm talking about is what you might call maize, not the sort of wafty stuff you grow over there, and at the time I purchased the land, it had been plowed so there was nothing of significance growing. To save you asking another silly question, no, we don't have tractors, we use Caribou - you'd probably know it as a water buffalo. The picture of the early house construction was taken about 3 months after I got the land and it had been lying fallow, but still with virtually no vegetation growing. Does that clear up that little irrelevance for you? ;D DJ

So moving on from simple's drivel, here are a few more pics of the progress - Looking up past the poultry to magnolia avenue. Round the bottom corner beyond the poultry. And starting up the home straight towards dirty kitchen depot. Now more than 2/3 of the way round so should be finished within a week I expect. DJ

Hi Dj. Building on the cornfield drivel, I'm quite impressed with your cornucopia of track! (bad pun that..) JB I'm sorry JB - I'm a simple person. I do not understand what the horn of the goat Amalthaea has to do with my track - elucidate, you erudite one! But I do have to say that even for me, the track is a somewhat bigger project than I first imagined DJ P.S. Talking of the poultry, we're now harvesting 1.8 - 2 kilo birds after a mere 35 days - the magic of DJ's 2 hour on, 2 hour off, night lighting system. Fascinating, when the lights come on after 2 hours of darkness, the little buggers are up and at the feed like rats up a rhoddendrum and we don't waste feed on them sleeping all night burning calories.
