Am I the only one who misses the Club / Society news that used to be in the M.E.
As a club man it is always nice to read what others have been or are going to be getting up to.

Dennis No you're not the only one. Some of us were expressing just that thought at our club meeting last Wednesday. It appears the only way to get news of your club into the Magazine is to write an article. That really doesn't provide the regular exchange of information that used to appear. I guess its probably because it actually needs someone to collate the information and maybe clubs have now stopped providing it. I know our club provided information but very rarely was anything published. George Ray

EIM can do it so why can't ME? Please bring it back.

Thanks guys for your thoughts, perhaps we should start a campaign to get it back, if EIM can do it why not the M.E.

Our Society is not particularly active when it comes to events, etc, and there isn't much of interest for me (as Hon Sec) to keep readers of ME or EIM interested. I much preferred the old way of reading about other clubs/societies in ME. Hopefully David will be able to do something about it.

Recent editorials in ME have asked for material several times. I have emailed the last 2 club news letters and offered to provide photographs at high resolution if required. All I got was confirmation that the pics provided were not adequate. I do think ME has improved considerably in many ways but I always enjoyed reading about what was going on at the likes of "The Santa Barbara Society of Model and Experimental Engineers and Barbeque Club" ;D Why don't we have names like that? Well there was a note on ME's homepage yesterday saying they were looking for a part time member of staff to cover clabs, exhibitions etc in the South as David Clarke is based in Scotland.
So it looks like ME & EIM are trying to get something sorted, why not raise the issue on their forum where David is more likely to see it.
