Would anyone know how to check that I have the correct valve timing on a 4" Clayton Traction Engine?

Hi John,
Whatstage are you at with your engine? Is it a runner, or are you building it? If the latter, how far through the process are you?

And if you are setting it cold make sure you allow for expansion of the boiler as the rod will need to be longer when the engine is hot.
