Finally, starting to look like something. These trucks utilize two I beams with plates riveted to the top and bottom to form the bolster. There are castings for the center plates, side bearings, column guides, and brake rigging dead lever adjustors that get riveted to the bolster. This first set of trucks will go under the 0-6-0 tender. Additional pairs of trucks will go under a caboose and some freight cars. No shortage of things to do! Jack Attachments:

Very expensive looking wheels - why the spokes on the inside and not on the outside?

Hi DrJohn The ribs are on the inside of the wheels for strength only. You would have thought after going to all the trouble to make them pretty ribs they would have put them on the outside where they could see them, but they didn't. Jack

Hello My Friends Here are a few more photos of the arch bar trucks. Managed to get the bolsters mostly done. Still have to stick on the side bearings and center plates. Attachments:

Still a few little bits to make. The dead lever adjustors, and tie rods for the brake beams. Also the little leaf springs that hold the lids closed or open. Attachments:

These arch bar trucks have been a most delightful little puzzle. Time to finish them up and get back to the locomotive. Too much fun! Jack Attachments:

I have managed to get a bit more done on the little arch bar trucks. Here the leaf spring that holds the lid open or closed has been fitted up. The little screws are #000-120 (.033" Dia.). Attachments:

Last one for now. I like this photo mainly because it shows the tiny cotter pin made from .020" brass wire. The wire is stretched across the steel table and draw filed until it is half round, then formed into cotter pins, easy peasy! See you in the funny pages.. Jack Attachments:
