Hi Ztarum,
Looks really good. What boiler are you making?
Cheers Bryan

The boiler is a kit from PM Research here in the US. Vertical 3" diameter copper, with 13 fire tubes (3/8"). I'll post a picture when I get a chance.

For a "first" - very impressive. What a fine finish to the metalwork. Love to see the boiler. Best wishes Peter

Thanks for the kind words. I have added some pictures of the boiler. I should probably paint it to be correct, but I may leave it as is. I got started on the dynamo today. I made good progress, but probably have another 3 or 4 hours to go. As always, I'm not completely happy with how the bore through the casting is centered up but what can you do? Anyway, here are the boiler pictures. gallery.mac.com/ztarum#gallery

I also added a short video of the first steaming.

Great fun – yours is the first MobileMe gallery I've been to. As a fellow Mac user (I assume you are) it's nice to see one gallery in action.
Nice work, good pics and the video was fun too!
Cheers
Matt

I'm new to Macs. I bought a new iMac about 3 months ago. So far I like it, but it did take some getting used to. I made the switch mostly because I was tired of how slow my PC was, as it was constantly downloading anti-virus updates, etc. With the Mac you just sit down and go.

I got the dynamo fire-up. No pictures yet, but it does work. At first it was putting out only about 15% of the rated voltage, but I discovered I had the brushes placed incorrectly relative to the magnets. Rotated then 90 degrees and all was well.
Now I need to find a suitable light or lights to add to the display.
