Tel, Very interesting engine. Is this all "Scratch built" or are the plans and castings for the frames from a purchased casting kit? Also what height is it? Thanks Dave

Totally built from the ground up mate. I actually made the pattern and cast the frames about 4 or 5 years ago, and the whole project then lay fallow until this year. Then, just after I started work in earnest, the half beam project came along and disrupted things for a while. There were no drawings made, other that a couple of rough sketches to figure out things like the valve dimensions and the eccentric set up. There are a bunch of progress pics, and a bit of video here

just thought I would up date things the Double Diagonal engine shown in the photo.Brunell Steam Model Engineering market the complete set of drawings plus the castings in cast iron and gunmetal the original model was marketed by Helix engineering

Indeed they do market a double diagonal, but close inspection will reveal that it is quite different to mine. There is a fairly comprehensive set of pics of my build here for anyone that's interested.
