hi heres a simple engine i have started, upto this stage it has taken a week to make, working on it regulary,

the flywheel is cast iron and is off a sawing machine! the rest is bronze, m/steel, and aluminium, 3/4"x1" single action, pipes and fittings next then the boiler to be made. im getting there.

i started work on this engine and boiler again a couple of days ago, i have now changed the setup and made it into a double acting cylinder, all the boiler work has been completed and has had a pressure test done to 150 lbs, i have fired the boiler up and all works fine, the engine has had some compressed air run through it and that worked first time, i thought i may have a bit of tweeking up to do on the valve timing but it worked fine, the boiler just needs connecting upto the main steam line and the whole setup can be fired up,,at last!
sorry for the quality of the photos but the camera is crap!






i dont like the flywheel as its plain looking, i think ill be brave and attempt a few spokes cut into the wheel, never done that before! there will be a walkway and ladders attached to the boiler just to give it some detailed scale, im just wondering about what to do about the the flooring, something scale looking, any ideas? a displacement lubricator and water feed pump will be need to be added, is there any plans/drawings available anywere for a feed pump? i have googled it but ive had no joy!
