Looking for help with making jewellery

<This is my first attempt at posting on this forum, so please cut me some slack!>

I'm interested in machining some jewellery, probably out of stainless steel, at least to start with. Has anyone else tried this, or got any suggestions etc? I have a few ideas but I'm looking for help from more 'expert' sources!

THE expert on making jewellery, or at least, one of them, is The Viffer, who used to be active here but hasnt been around for a few weeks.
