Simplex Wheels

I am milling my "Simplex" wheels from solid and need some measurements. I'd like to know how thick the spokes are on a 12 spoke wheel and do they taper from the axle end out to the rim? If they taper I'd need to know the thickness at both ends. I'm making them out of aluminum and will put steel tires on them.

A lot of work I know but I have more time than money and this is a lot cheaper than a set of cast wheels.

I have one almost done but the spokes just don't look right. I made them all most .250 thick and no taper. They just seem to bulky.

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Mine are about 3/16" thick, do not taper and are (roughly) elliptical in cross section.
