Can anybody please help me with a query on LBSC 3.5" britannia boiler. On the firebox side at the front top corner there are two holes 5/32 by 40 tpi but no mention as to what to do with them. Is there a single rod passing thru the combustion chamber and out the other side or are there two separate rods on each side? Do you fit bushes like on the solid stays or just use the tapped holes? I'm assuming it is to support the firebox side but exactly what your meant to do the drawings just don't say.

The tapped holes are for additional side stays between the outer firebox wrapper and the combustion chamber. They are just short stays between the two sheets of copper, the same as the firebox side stays. No need for bushes, they are just threaded into the copper.
If you intend to use silver soldered plain copper rivets for the stays then obviously the holes do not need to be tapped.

Many thanks for that John. Its nice when it turns out simpler that you thought. This is my first build so its all new to me but its starting to look like a loco now. More worried that it wont work like one. Peter
