Guys, I'd like to make a sign (well probably three of them) for the club track that say 'Limited Clearance', with maybe the club initials at the top and with a 'nice' plain border round the whole job. It wants to be A4 or A5 size, or thereabouts. The idea I have is a cast sign with raised letters and a plain raised border. The thing would be painted black, except for the faces of the raised letters and the border, which would be white. In other words, much like name or works plates. Given I could do with 3 of these, the idea of getting them cast appeals to me. I have a local foundry that made a great job of my wheels and I would have a word with them about getting it cast. But how do I make the letters with the draft angle etc.? I guess they're going to be about an inch high. Are such things available commercially? Thanks, John

my first thought is either fridge magnets of letters or take a trip to somewhere like early lerning and see if they have any wood or plastic letters that get given to kids in a hope that they learn what they look like.

3/4" letters are available for those slotted directory boards - they have some draught, all you have to do is cut the little tabs off the back

Most miniature railways use the same sign as is used on the Big Railway.
I.E. a square board divided into four equal squares 2 white and 2 red.
Easy and everyone will know what it means even if they cant read.
