I have just been browsing the internet and found what appears to be a new model engineering auction site. [glow=red,2,300]www.railauction.uk.tp[/glow] It seems to follow the eBay style of auction site, but it says it is free!! Only one item posted when I looked, shows how new it is I suspect. I intend to put things on there when I have something to sell. Why pay eBay fees?! It looks as if we can now do it for free!! ;D Regards, thetrainman.

This may be pure coincidence but your user name appears to be the same as the guy who's just set up said website

Oh yes!!! He must be my evil twin! I was not sure about the forum's policy on advertising, but then again I stand to make nothing from the website... Do you think thats ok?

Why pay eBay fees?
'cos I suspect that the 2 registered users are a considerably smaller potential customer base than wot you'd get on eBay.
Given time, however, it may develop into something worthwhile

Good luck, as Tel says you're up against a huge customer base in Ebay, but if you can keep the number of scams, hyjacked IDs and cons down, it'll be like a breath of fresh air after Ebay. Ron

Hi lads, thanks for all you constructive comments! I see from the last post from David Scott, he says about paypal not being a recognised world money. Does he mean on my site, or just in general? Thanks again.
