Another question I hope someone will be able to answer; why does my Sievert burner (22mm or therabouts) ignite at the jet rather than the mouth of the burner? It is tightly screwed on and the washer seems in good order, but it refuses to burn properly!
Had a look in the machine mart catalogue and seemingly identical handles and burners are available as sets for a lot less - was thinking of gettingf one of these for boiler making when a lot of heat is required - does anyone have experience?

Two possible causes for your burner problem may be:
1) the jet may be partially blocked and restricting the gas flow or
2) the gas pressure to the burner may be too low. If you've got an adjustable regulator try increasing the pressure.

what number is the burner? Is your bottle full or half empty and are you running at bottle pressure or through a regulator?

Just had a look at Machine Mart as I am looking for a second torch for larger boiler work. Hadn't thought to check them out. Even the genuine Sievert torch kits seem relatively cheap compared to the usual ME suppliers. I too would be interested to hear if anyone has any experience with their own brand torch kits.

I went to my local plumbing supply shop. Got a range of burners, up to a burner big enough to fire my furnace (about 30kw)
Lot cheaper than Sievert

Those kits that they sell in Machine Mart are basically Sievert ones rebranded - and a lot cheaper.
I've almost completed two boilers using one of these and it has been great. To do some of the bigger work I had to buy some bigger nozzles - Sievert ones worked just perfectly and even managed to get the biggest nozzle they make secondhand off ebay.
Unless you want the fancy features that come with the higher end sievert stuff then get the machine mart kit - you can always buy the cheap set and buy the sievert extras as you need them!
Cheers
