When I bought my Myford Super 7 (secondhand) included was a capstan tailstock which I have never had occasion to use.
I am considering putting it on ebay. Does anybody have an idea as to what price I should ask. (It auto changes the head when you move it on the bed)
I have not seen one advertised before

They are d*** expensive.
I bought one plus the whole collet set with colletts, and lever operated cross slide, for £30, but that was back when £30 was worth having! (Shortly after I bought the ML7 for under £150 new.) They are VERY useful.
I would be surprised if bidding ends at under £200 or so.

AJ,
A friend of mine sold one ten or more years ago and got £120 for it! He sold it through our local supplier and got many 'phone calls long after it had gone. As Alan says, they are da**ed expensive. Hang on for a good price. Have you asked what a new item costs these days for comparison? Let me sit down before you tell us!!
Waggy.

Hi AJ,
not sure if it's is the same as yours but there's a chap on Ebay asking £149 for a Myford Capstan Attachment (do a search with that description to find it)

£149 sounds cheap to me. I suspect many people dont realise how useful and valuable they are.

Mmm! Sounds like you'd better keep it. Regards, Tony.
