Hi all,
Can anyone advise as to whether aluminium bronze is suitable for use in boilers? I've got some large bushes to make for dome, regulator etc. and I've some aluminium bronze bar in suitable sizes. I know that it is necessary to add common salt to the flux when silver soldering it.

No. Best to keep it for bearings.
The only really safe materials in or on copper boilers are phospher bronze or gunmetal, or of course, copper. Monel metal works too, but can have some undesired long term problems so is no longer recomended.
