All Some time ago I built a free lance Garratt in 5" gauge . I had problem fitting all flexible hoses in a very small space . After a lot of thinking and relating to my experience in aircraft industry I designed ( not reinventing the wheel ) a hollow pivot which allowed the passage of steam without restricting movement using copper rigid pipes. I still used flexible hoses for exhaust . the system was used and proved to be successful .There are no dimensions on the diagram because they will vary to suit the application .

So you used the bearing between engine and boilerframe to pass the steam? Ingenious. I'm going to save this drawing for later use. Thanks.
