This is the first finished component for my recreation of the Stuart Turner No. 3 compound engine ( 1 1/2" & 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" stroke) The crankshaft started off as a flame cut blank from 25mm Gr 50 structural plate, heated in the forge and twisted through 90 degrees, then the shaft sections milled down from square section to octagonal before turning. The bedplate and boxbed castings are awaiting collection from the foundry. Richard Attachments:
