Guys,
Does anyone know of a source of Boiler Lagging in UK? I've heard that both Reeves and Black Gates do it but their web shops don't seem to have it (or I just can't find it 'cus it's called something odd).
I have heard tell of some white sheet available in 1mm, 2mm, ... thicknesses.
It occurs that my local plumber merchants may have something similar at more sensible prices.
The club treasure is suggesting using cardboard as it's the club loco and he'll be paying.

GLR include ceramic fibre lagging in their V. boiler kit. I think that it's 2mm
[ Later : have just checked. So much for my memory ! 500 x 500 x 1 £5.95 500 x 500 x 3 £7.95 ]

Give Polly Models a ring, they sell it in either 2mm or 3mm thickness at 20 "wide for £2or £3 per foot respectively.

As Andy says Polly Models or your local independent plumbers merchant will still do the old type wrap round lagging, or strip balsa wood, any thing is better than nothing.

Thanks guys.
After bit more research I've seen two versions of the stuff. One is like white card the other is a more woolly. Seems the woolly stuff is easily crushed and doesn't recover.

Fibreglass matting from the car spares shop works. Nice and thin, can be layered and stuffed into those awkward little places! Wear plastic gloves when handling or you WILL itch for days! Believe me, I know! Waggy.

I use fibreglass cloth ( material ) on all my models and seems to work fine . It is safe and reasonably cheap .
