I'm enquiring for a friend without internet access - can anyone help with articles and drawings describing the carburettor for the Mastiff engine - these appeared in the ME ca. 1973. My friend has built most of the engine and has all the articles up to part 22.
If you are able to help, please contact me direct.

Hi Teakfreak,
I wonder if your friend knows that the constructional articles were published as a book, with a title of: "Building 'Mastiff'" would you believe? I am not sure whether this book is still in print. Try Camden, or Tee and see if either of them have a copy.
Before details of the carb. can be given, is your friend making the single carb version, or the twin carb version of the engine?
A little while ago I tried to locate where the patterns for the castings had got to, but no-one could tell me. Do you know where your friend got his castings from, and was it recently?
It is good to hear that Mastiff is still being made.
Cheers,
Roger Mason, Len's ageing son!!

I'm sending you a PM (personal message) containing the links for the files The articles go up to number 31 All carburetor drawings/instructions are in articles 27-30 Hope this helps Andrew Barber *EDIT* Yay first post

I have to say that the site suggested worked brilliantly for me.
However, I haven't quite worked out how to explore what else is available. the other thing i need at some point is some parts of the 3" Foden steam lorry series - are these available?

I have the Foden series out on my desk at the moment. It only goes part of the way and then stops without warning. I could never find any reference as to why it stopped.
Let me know what you need.

Whilst on the IC engine topic has anyone got a set of the timing gears for a Sealion engine?

I'll have to get back to my friend and see what he needs - but if the series stopped it might explain why he's missing the later parts!

That website that has the Mastiff files on it doesnt have anything else on it. My internet provider gave me 10MB of space and if I need to share anything i just put it on there. You should probably (if you havn't already) download the PDF files onto your computer because they may well disappear if I need to share something else. No hurry though.
As for the Sealion timing gears, I can't help but if you dont have the articles I have them on my computer and can share them on another webspace (each family member got a webspace but only I know how to use it, heehee). I will send a message to you with the links if you want.

My friend apparently has parts 1-11 of the series, so would appreciate any parts from 12 to the end.
Thanks!

The last article I can find is part 12 P909 Vol 139. After that there is no trace and even in Smokerings or Letters I can find no details as to why the series stops.
Check you mail for copy.
