Guys,
It's just occurred that a bit of market research on loco colour scheme would be advisable before a stuff it up.
The loco is an outside framed narrow gauge 0-4-0 Sweet Pea type.
The frames have been stove enameled black and I'm thinking a change to blue for the saddle tank and cab. It's been most sensible colours except blue in the past and I've got the paint.
My question is: should I complement the running gear in blue with blue cylinders? Generally cylinders get to be black.
Maybe black cylinders with blue covers.
The beast is planned to be at the Midland MEX next week so finger out on replies.

Steve,
What about blue cylinder lagging covers and red motion. Maybe red lining on the tank too?

JohnP,
Yea thanks, I was thinking about the blue lagging thing, just wanted to check I wasn't the only one.
It had red motion last time with maroon livery. Thought I'd go for blue to match everywhere else.
I've heard that it was traditional to go red on the inside of the frames. Sod that, it's all black now but I've gone for red springs and suspension bits along with red for the brake linkage to break it up a bit.
So far I'm less than impressed with my previously successful smooth Hammerite. This stuff seems totally phobic about sticking on corners. I've also had more problems that I think I should have spraying the springs. I got more on them rolling them through the over spray. Is there a secret to painting coil springs?
