My last component to build is the ashpan. The drawing does not indicate a back to it is this correct ?

Hi Unless you want all the abrasive ash to land on your back axle and wear out the bushes, I suggest you put a back in, but leave out the front for air-feed. See my origami ashpan:- I the took the card and laid it out on a sheet of 1mm brass and made a proper ashpan. However, the footer of getting it in and out annoyed me, and as I am the "elf 'n safety officer" on my back garden track, I disbanded it altogether and allow the ash to fall on the axle. The fire burns a lot brighter (if you go to the track progress thread, you will see some videos, one of which shows the reflection from the fire on the track like an inferno) so I don't have any problems with generating steam.
