Hi I have what would appear to be 90% of the kits to produce a Winson 5 inch gauge Jubilee I have had the kit for about two years and I am about to start building it does anyone know of any that work and can anyone give me any advice as to what needs modifying or any sources of information

Good Morning.
Is the loco you are refering to "galatea" by winson, if it is then i know of only 1 running.
It was built by Andy ( not sure of his surname ) from the Chelmsford Society of Model Engineers.
I was a momber about 10 years ago and remember him testing it on the club track. If my memory serves correctly he had a boat load of problems with the loco especialy the boiler..
Best you could do is drop the club an email or post a new tread on the modelworks section of this site.
I am sure there are many people with experiance of this engine who would be willing to share any info and tips.

Hi I have a Black 5 which again is about 90% there but there is an additional center cylinder and some other bits which Im pretty sure dont belong with the kit

Only just looked at the video but the loco may well be the one originally built by a member of our club. He sold it a year or so ago and I'm sure he had named it Southern Rhodesia. I think it took him a couple of years to get all the problems sorted out, mainly poorly machined cylinders, valves, and rubbish valve gear. John
