Hi all I am on the second week of a five week Boeing 737 course in Glasgow Flying to and fro to NI at weekends but will be at a loss this coming Thursday afternoon, after the exam etc. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a Model Engineer type outlet in, or near, Glasgow that I might visit? Just need to stock up on a few bits and pieces that I didn't get at Leamington! Looking forward to any suitable suggestions. Cheers Brian

If you are stuck for something to do you could take some pictures of the 737 cockpit!! I need some dimensions to scale photographs.
My sons have convinced me to build the structure of a 737 cockpit (200 series, as my electronic skills don't run to installing and programming monitors).
About the only connection to Model Engineering is that instead of building a Sweet Pea the eldest wants to build the cockpit.

Hi Adrian
Sorry so far it's all paper aircraft! Once I'm back at work in Luton, Thomsonfly, I ought to be able to help.
Please let me know what you are interested in and I hope to be able to oblige. Although our fleet is -300, -500 or -800.
Cheers
Brian

Hi all
This was a particularly successful post for me, there was a change of plan and I am actually home a day early. However, I received a very kind PM from Chris Vine, who lives near(ish) to the airport, inviting me to visit him for the afternoon on Wednesday. He steamed his 7 1/4" B1 'Bongo', some of you might have seen this locomotive as the 'cover girl' on issue 4244 (April 2005) of the Model Engineer magazine, for my visit and I had the privilege of taking a turn driving her on his garden line! I must say how very welcome I felt and must thank him, and his wife, for their generosity and the superb meal on Wednesday evening.
I feel I ought to draw your attention to his recently published book, 'How (not) to paint a Locomotive', which he has advertised elsewhere on this site. It covers the process he has developed for producing a flawless and highly realistic finish for locomotives. I am far from an expert but I imagine there are few better finished examples around. We could all learn something from him I feel.
Thanks again Chris, and good luck with the book sales.
Cheers
Brian
