Im looking to build a simple mill engine but would like it to be larger than what is currently available typically fly wheel Dia of around 4". I have heard of an engine named Tina which is supposed to have a fly wheel of around 6" Dia. Can you offer any light on this model or indeed know of any other large mill engines to build. Many thanks regards Alan

Most of Anthony Mounts designs are good and quite often a bit unusual, bruce engineering sell the castings for most or you can make some from scratch. I've just done his Benson engine but to a bigger scale see thisJ

Morning everyone, I am 81 and have just bought a very nice Myford Super 7B with all that I need to build a simple stationary horizontal engine. I do not have a lot of spare time as I am a live-in carer for a friend with M.S. and also am an organist playing for weddings and funerals plus Sunday mornings playing at church which is where the cash was earned to buy the lathe and mill. I would like a simple design with no castings that I can make from stock. Any suggestions for such a design (preferably to download) would be very welcome. I joined a local club but was made so welcome that I rarely go over there. Many thanks Drawstop.

Have a google for Elmers No 33 Mill Engine and you should find some online plans. Its quite a simple one to do and uses barstock. Stewart Hart's Simple mill engine is another basic one that can be done on just a lathe, his build is here and has also been published in ME recently www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php?topic=1801.0

One of the simple engines is the version of Edgar Westbury's Perseus. He did one using castings and another, virtually identical, using bar stock.
I doubt that the drawings are on-line, but I am sure I have them and will scan and copy them if required.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply.
Elmers no.33 it is to be.
I will take a series of photos as I build it.
Richard.
