What are people's experiences with Multiple Unit control of electric and/or petrol electric locos, and any other types if applicable?

What methods do you use?
Suggestions for improvments?
What about direction control?
Brakes?
Fail-pafe mechanisms?
Any 'standard' interface out there?

This is a useful reference for battery electric multiple unit working (Called slaves by 4QD). Haven't tried it myself but 4QD seem to know what they are talking about.

the only people i know use mu control is diamond valley melbourne aus
there is an article on there website about it but it is not very informative
