Building the copper boiler, but the drawings do not give any info for the firebox/backhead stays. The LBSC Book says 3 stays in the wrapper, which I think means backhead/firebox wrapper, but this doesn't look like enough. The drawings don't show any (except the longditudinal stays).
Any ideas ?

The crown sheet stays on my 4 3/4" Speedy were its weakest point ! You must really reinforce this area with atleast 6 stays or some form of girder reinforcement .Catatrophic failure happened with my boiler last season .Highly recommend building this firebox area like a tank ! I bought this working lbsc Speedy with all the updates and it lasted 3 seasons till the 4 stays let go . Wasnt impressed on the build in that area . Im quit suprised because of the builder who he was .My new boiler is steel and almost ready to fire. Hydro tested to 220 psi no problem and eliminated the use of the sidewater tanks using an aluminum riding car water and coal bunker .
