As a trader, I'm often asked for odd sizes of steel such as 5/16" x 1/2", 3/32" x 5/16", 3/16" x 1/4" etc. I do try my best to source these for people, although normally they only want a couple of feet at most, but they're increasingly hard to find, althogh I'm sure that they would have been available at one time. The most likely source would seem to be smaller steel stockholders who might have leftover oddments but can anyone point me in any suitable directions?

Unfortuantly you will probably find that not many steel suppliers are going to lay out extensive money in tooling for the manufactureing of 2 or so feet of odd sized material. I may be wronge but the only option would be to supply larger sizes to be machined down to size.
