I have read with interest the thread on the ME forum referring to article submissions.
As both the editor of my society magazine and managing director of a model engineering related magazine, I try and acknowledge everyone's work - however small. I do appreciate that editing a magazine does take a lot of effort; but certainly a simple - even standard reply email or compliment slip - goes a long way to acknowledging someones efforts.
Hopefully I have not failed to acknowledge any of my contributors? If so, please let me know! Getting folk to engage in many activities these days is getting harder and harder, so all efforts are really appreciated in the hobby engineer magazine office!

Whilst I have little sympathy with DC since acknowledgement is common courtesy and could increase the flow of articles he is producing six times as many magazines as you, each one with a page count of at least twice that of your new venture, for which I wish you well.

Hi Steve,
We would welcome any contributions for perusal and do offer a fee.
Probably now the best place to discuss: But if you would like to email me at;
editor@hobbyengineermagazine.co.uk
I would be glad to discuss this with you and also send a copy of our contributors terms and conditions.
Kind regards
Cliff

That whole thread is bordering on unbelievable. I pitched in yesterday but overnight it seemed to go ballistic, unfortunately David C is doing little to gain the confidence of contributors and I'd be surprised if submissions and even subscriptions don't suffer as a result. This is what we are discussing. www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=68979Pete
