Anyone know where I can get hold of a GA of the 18" gauge Hunslet Jack as preserved in Leeds?
I know Maxitrack did a version but I am after a works drawing or similar for more details.

Adrian, Jack is preserved at Armley Mills Museum - try www.leeds.gov.uk/armleymills/ - there's nothing on their website about Jack, but you'll get a contact address. Maxitrak are still supplying the Jack kit (I've built one and was very satisfied) but I doubt if they can help - it's a proprietary kit after all. I've posted a photo of my loco in the Modelworks Bagnall thread (Getting on With It - Message No. 3). It's a great little engine, capable of steaming for as long as you care to keep shovelling coal! But in 5" gauge, it's more or less quarter scale and is big and heavy! Eric C.

My girlfriend lives 5 mins walk from Armley Mills. I'm going to visit tomorrow. Email me (exactly) what you want and I'll pop in over the weekend if I get a chance.
Ciao

Thanks for the replies. The GA is for my friend in Naples who builds a loco in 6-8 months and combines it with a day job of GP and has a family. He's quite a human dynamo. The plan is to build this in 7 1/4", it will be in 1:2.5 scale so just under 5" to the foot. It should be quite a beast when finished.
I will mail requirements later as I am out travelling all day today.
