Hi all,
I am currently looking at an 0-6-0 5 inch engine to purchase and am after some help with the boiler stamp I have found on it, it says RG757 now this engine was thought first to be an achilles but the wheels seem to close together so the jury is still out on it. Apart from the stamp there is no CE mark etc and it is thought not to have steamed for atleast 8 years so if commercial it's likely to be before CE marking, any help greatly appreciated.

Somewhere at the back of my mind, RG rings a bell. If I am right, he was a commercial / semi-commercial boiler maker. Someone here may have a better memory than I have!
Could the numbers indicate 7th boiler of 1957? It would be logical.
Cant offer any suggestions re the loco's identity, but posting some photos may get some suggestions.

Could it be RC which would be Reg Chambers?

I did wonder about that. He was in Weymouth and built many excellent boilers.
