Umm, happened to see it on the shelf in Smiths last week whilst christmas shopping and nearly bought it, glad I didnt now. Sadly for the publishers I am unlikley to buy again unless I can actually see what is inside it! Andy Hehe, I can just see all those oily thumbprints on every page at Smiths... probably the same reason they put 'mens' magazines in plastic

>Thats great, but what about all the others who bought it off the newsagents shelf, wrapped up in plastic so you could only see "Model >Engineers Workshop" exposed?? hmmm They've been well and truly shaf*ed :-( We have, but at £3.75 I can take it. But never another edition (Its pretty basic anyway)... Subscribers please advise them of that. Does anybody know the direct publishers email address by the way?? Happy to send to him a quick email on this. It's a small ME world and if they want to try this one again.... Try sending a missive to :- Owen Davies Encanta Media Ltd Berwick House 8-10 Knoll Rise Orpington Kent BR6 0EL His office phone number (or at least the number of his admin) is: 01689 899222 His email address is: owen.davies@encanta.co.ukHe's the MD of Encanta and, as someone said elsewhere, it may do his soul good to hear the complaints directly. BTW. I e-mailed him requesting a refund and an extra issue, received a next day reply - "It will be done" - followed by an e-mail from "Subscriptions" confirming my refunded copy. If you are a subscriber, it's best to quote your 10 digit subscriber's number, name and address. Andy

Following a notice in the homeworkshop site www.homeworkshop.org.uk/latest.htmlI emailed the MD with my snailmail address and received their cheque by return of post. Regards to all, Bob (newbie beginner age 70)

I hope all subscribers have complained - the impression I get is that unless you speak up they'll just assume you have not noticed and carry on treating the plans non-issue as an issue. If you complain then you'll get an 'extra' issue.
Cheers

Guys,
Thanks for all the warnings. I ended up borrowing a copy from a guy I'd warned (he forgot). The good news is I found a source for plans on my long term wish list.
I also noticed plans mentioned in response to folk asking about various bits, engines and the like. Folk from the "Stationary Engines" thread might be interested in borrowing a copy.
At least one of us is happy ;D

I think they really missed a trick (or several) with the plans guide - it could have been a really useful authoritative overview of what's out there - instead of the rehashed mess they gave us.

Looks like the 'pressure' has worked - in this morning's issue the editor has confirmed that (subscriber's) issues are gratis and do not affect subscription duration.
Power to the people!
