Hi Guys, I am building the Black 5. 7.25 inch gauge. Its about 80% done. Can anyone help me with the vacuum braking system on the tender. I am also fitting a hand brake to the tender which will be coupled to the vacuum braking system. Is there any drawings out there.
Regards Paul PS I have a full set of castings and frames to build another B5 if anybody is interested

Afternoon
I would sugest the martin evens drawing for highlander available from i believe revees. Paul at PNP will be able to help with vac components and would probably be able to supply piping layouts you would need.

Hi Paul if i remember correctly the Highlander Drawings show steam braking on the tender which is effective, that is what most of our Black 5's have, (we have 4) if you want to go down the Vacuum route, as Robert said the PNP ones are good and will give you the pipeing layout. How far have you got with the loco?

Hi Guys, Thanks for your interest, the loco has steam brakes, Screw brake tender. I have emailed PNP for details of brake designs but they just refer me to their website showing some of their products. I was hoping there might be some detailed drawings available. The loco is running on air, boiler is fitted on chassis, tender almost complete except for vacuum brakes. I may change my mind about the brakes . Loco bodywork well underway, working on the cab and front of tender. Chassis fitted Stevenson outside valve gear, it runs on about 12psi and knotches up almost to mid gear. I am hoping to complete the loco later this year.
regards Paul
