I was wondering what would constitute the perfect Xmas for us. A day in the workshop? Finding an IOU for a set of castings from Father Xmas, or a day steaming with the kids?
(Or surviving till the new year?)

Hi Jo.
For myself and probably most of us, going into my workshop on Christmas day morning and finding all the uncompleted projects sitting there finished!!
Apart from that peace all round would be as good a present as any.
Kind regards to everyone for Christmas and the New Year. Stantheman.

waking up to find a nice new milling machine would be great! ;D As that's unlikely to happen I'll settle for getting my 'Helen' chassis running on air . Echoing what Stan has said, it would be very nice if the Human Race would stop trying to kill itself off and actually get on with one another. Merry Xmas to everyone and Best Wishes for the New Year! (and may Santa bring you just what you want!) John

A pleasant morning spent in the peace and quiet of the workshop, followed by a good film on the tele about steam railways after Christmas lunch ! Echoing Stan's sentiments, wouldn't it nice if the idea of 'Peace and Good Will to All Men' (and ladies too!) extended beyond the 'festive season. Merry Christmas to all!

I'm not sure that I would like all my project finished for me - that would ruin the fun of learning but maybe a few extra hours in a day to allow me time to get out to the workshop. I would love a little helper to keep said workshop neat and tidy Ha Ha.
I follow everybodies sentiments about Good Will to everyone.
Hope you all have a Merry (hic) Christmas and a Happy New Year (hic hic)

My own comments about finding everything finished was perhaps a little defeatest (?). Trouble is that when you have been involved in the hobby for a number of years life gets a bit like a ski slope, the more you get to enjoy it the faster the years seem to get away from you.
I hope we ALL have a very long time ahead of us to complete the many things we have begun. I like the idea of a little helper, not so little that they would get lost amongst all of the bits. The double 'hic' sounds good from every angle.
Enjoy yourselves.
Stan.

I was going to say "to make less scrappers", but that's when you learn, isn't it? So I'm going to settle for "Not making stupid mistakes". Merry Christamas to the list.
