I've had a query raised by a fellow model engineering, boiler tester, and day-to-day PSSR compliant hydraulics engineer.
My fittings bought from the USA are obviously not CE marked (I havent yet asked if they have gone down the CE route). Can they be used without first pressure testing them to the UK boiler code? The code dictates that the fittings must be in place for testing at re-test certainly, and obviously fitted for steam test.

As I understand it there is no need for the fittings to be CE marked. If there was it would be stated in the green book and I can't see it written anywhere in there. AFAIK none of the boiler fittings suppled by the usual UK suppliers carry a CE mark but I haven't bought any recently so I may be wrong. My interpretation of the requirement is that the test code only requires that the fittings are present for the steam test, there is no requirement for a separate pressure test for fittings. The steam test is the pressure test. That is the way I will be interpeting the code when carrying out testing at our club.

If you make your own fittings they are not going to be CE marked any way.
