Hi All
Just to conclude this thread everyone has been most helpful. Julian even had my injector to check out and it seemed ok. Derek Brown, famous author, has sent me one of his and this has proved that my steam valves are too small. At a recent boiler test I was asked if these were captive valves and of course they were not. I was told about grandfather‘s rights but still decided to update them. Of course done not quite right so back to the workshop with Derek’s book in hand to do them as they should be. I can thoroughly recommend Derek’s book, it is fountain of knowledge and worth every penny. For goodness sake he sends me an injector for love, worth a bloody good plug!!!!! Thanks Guys

Derek's a great chap, we had problems with a club engine's injector, and he sorted them out for us.

david, ive sent you a pm cheers, julian Julian Just thought I would let you know that after some serious learning and experimentation, all four injectors on two locos purr away when asked to put a little water in and work beautifully. I have to say it is a wonderful feeling when they pick up with hardly a squirt of water through the overflow and one feels so superior and sanctimonious when other people look at you in awe!! But I had to find this litle spec in one of them. That is a .9mm lead in my pencil so the spec must be about 1/2 a mil. Nowe have a little tool to remove the cones and clean them up. Thanks for your encouragement! Cheers David Injector Bit A by brigandchief, on Flickr
